The Venger Tactical Self-Protection Pistol Course (Formally Defensive Pistol) Level 1. 9 am to 4 pm, April 7th, 2024, Grand Island, NE.
The Venger Tactical Self-Protection Pistol Course (formally defensive pistol) level 1 (VTSPPC-1) is a 7-8-hour course designed to help the beginner get familiar and comfortable with safely using his or her handgun. The class will begin with a familiarization class and get you used to handling your pistol. We will show you ways to draw your handgun from your holster, acquire a target and engage a threat while being aware of your surroundings. On the range you will practice loading, firing, and clearing a handgun under the guidance and supervision of former Green Beret and current NRA instructor Erin Cook and Wade Bentley, a current member of the GIPD Tactical Response Team and NRA Instructor. During this time, you will begin with slow-aimed fire and progress to shooting around barriers, discuss cover and we will show you how to use it to your advantage. You will be shooting a variety of targets from varying distances and positions. Carrying a handgun is a big responsibility and we want you to have the confidence to handle it responsibility, with the safety of friends and family in mind.
