This is the first time we've offered this course. Instead of having an emphasis on threats and defensive shooting, we concentrate on pistol marksmanship. The Beginner Pistol Shooting Course is a 7-8 hour course designed to help the beginner get familiar and comfortable with safely using his or her handgun. The class will begin with a familiarization class and get you used to handling your pistol. We will show you ways to draw your handgun from your holster, acquire a target and engage the target. On the range we will begin with a slow-aimed fire and progress to shooting fast. We will teach you to engage targets and threats. Owning a handgun is a big responsibility and we want you to have the confidence to handle that responsibility, with the safety of friends and family in mind. Required: Semi-automatic handgun w/2 extra mags (3 total), an outside-the-waistband holster, belt mounted mag pouch that can hold at least 2 extra pistol mags, 400 rounds of ammunition, motivation. We have a lot of equipment, so please contact us before you go out and buy something.
*Bring a box lunch if you want, but we will take an hour lunch. There are stores within 5 min.
*We have a couple handguns for rent, please coordinate this prior to signing up for the course.
